Wirtzfeld Valley – Appartement – Ardennen


Area Information

Wirtzfeld is a small village in High Belgium at an altitude of 1,800 ft (600 meters). It boasts a picturesque church, and is situated next to the famous forests of the Battle of the Bulge.

The artificial lake of Bütgenbach (only ¾ of a mile – 1,200 metres away) offers many kinds of water-sports.

Sight-seeing flights over Lake Bütgenbach or the High Fens with “Ultra Light Machines” can be reserved for you (weather depending) with friendly pilots at a small airstrip nearby.

In the immediate vicinity you will find numerous hiking- and mountain-bike trails, and in the winter Alpine skiing and cross-country tracks.

An 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, horse trekking, a casino and many inviting restaurants with excellent gourmet cuisine are also close by.

The Formula-1 racetrack Spa-Francorchamps is only 30 minutes by car, as well as the charming towns of Monschau, Malmedy and Stavelot.
